Nova provides work experience placements for university students in their penultimate or final year of studies, whose tertiary qualifications are aligned to Nova’s core capabilities (check out Capabilities on any of Our Businesses sites). The work experience placements are voluntary and location will be determined by which of our offices has an identified project and supervisor.
Work experience is seen as an early stage of our recruiting process to assess an individuals’ suitability for future employment. Whilst work experience is not a guarantee of future employment and it is highly unlikely that an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency security clearance will be needed for a work experience placement, being eligible for a security clearance is a consideration as part of any future offer we may give. As such, Work experience students (and Graduates) need to have Australian citizenship.
Typically, placements occur over the summer university break and start as early as November through to as late as March with interviews in October (pre-exams). Placements will not be less than 8 weeks. However, our priority is to not place a student at risk of compromising their degree due to work experience commitments. Therefore, we are flexible around these dates and on exception placements can occur outside November to March.
